Distressed turquoise. The renovation on this historic Massachusetts farmhouse included a large dream kitchen for the restaurant-owning homeowners. A pleasing turquoise with a distressed finish works beautifully against the exposed brick wall. And we’ll give them bonus points for all the wonderful colors of the ingredients in the Mason jars.
Bold Wall With Neutral Accents. A great strategy for incorporating bold colors into your kitchen is to keep the expensive items — such as the countertops, cabinet fronts and flooring — neutral in color and save the bold colors for things that are easy and affordable to change out, like wall paint.
The bold shade is a custom paint color. The double cabinet of pantry storage has a glass-fronted cabinet with glass shelves on one side. “It’s painted inside and lit,” Graver says. “The owners wanted somewhere to store glasses and to have some display space too.”
Lemon yellow. No matter how sleepy the homeowners are, this bright farmhouse kitchen must perk them right up in the morning. A pitcher of sunflowers is right at home in the yummy lemon yellow room. Note the way the designers painted the trim to match the cabinets. They did this around the windows and doors as well as on a narrow piece of molding around the ceiling to continue the brightness around the room.
