Chalked-up concrete. Take sidewalk chalk to the kitchen with a writable cement backsplash, and have fun creating a rotating display of sketches, doodles and lists. A concrete floor can be treated the same way, depending on the finish used — so you can let the kiddos draw on the floor!
Geometric backsplash. Bright, bold and eye catching, a feature like this is sure to be a centerpiece. You can achieve a similar look with mosaic tile or by carefully applying paint.
Lemon yellow. No matter how sleepy the homeowners are, this bright farmhouse kitchen must perk them right up in the morning. A pitcher of sunflowers is right at home in the yummy lemon yellow room. Note the way the designers painted the trim to match the cabinets. They did this around the windows and doors as well as on a narrow piece of molding around the ceiling to continue the brightness around the room.
Tomato red. A Campbell’s soup can made iconic by Andy Warhol is a perfect piece of art for this jazzy kitchen. Even the oven range knobs match the red thermafoil on these cheerful kitchen cabinets.
